On Wednesday evening last (August 8th), Austin Stacks were the visitors to Lewis Road for the County League Division 1 semi final. As expected this game proved to be a close encounter.
After losing the toss and playing against the breeze in the first half, we struggled to find our rhythm in the early stages of the game and the visitors dominated the play. At the interval Austin Stacks were ahead on a scoreline of 1-5 to 1-2.
In the second half we played much better, and with some superb defending we took control of proceedings and outscored the opposition to win by a point after a very exciting finish to the game, on a scoreline of Dr Crokes 2-7 Austin Stacks 1-9. The lads showed great determination and team spirit on the night and now play Na Gaeil next Wednesday night at 7.45pm in the County Final in Austin Stack Park.  Well done lads!
