On Wednesday evening (July 18th), our U 16’s travelled to Tralee to take on Na Gaeil at Killeen Road in the 3rd round of the county league division 1.

Dr Crokes won the toss and opted to play with the wind. The Crokes started the game well and quickly went into the lead with a number of well taken points. Na Gaeil responded to this challenge scoring well, but at times missing scorable chances. As the first half concluded, the Crokes were marginally ahead on a score line of 1 - 4 to 6 points.

Na Gaeil took their time emerging from the dressing rooms but when they did they began the 2nd half at a lively pace. With a well taken goal and point they nudged themselves ahead. This set the pattern of play for the 2nd half with both sides trading scores. Overall the game was a closely fought contest, with both teams having their chances to win it outright. In the end a draw ( 1-11 to 1-11) was a fair result on a fine night for football.

This was another focused, determined and steely performance by our U16’s - well done lads!
