What a performance. With a strong wind against us in the first half ,we defended very well and went in at the break only one point adrift. Jake Downing with two first half goals and Muiris o Donoghue with three points kept us within striking distance at half time. The second half was a near perfect performance, as we kept our opposition scoreless and clocked 3:07 on the board ourselves. Some great performances tonight by :Cathal Sugrue and Jack o Donoghue in defence ably assisted by our attacking wing backs Dara o Sullivan and Sean Kiely. Our midfield of Ciaran Boyne and Antoan Donchev were hard working throughout and kicked 2:04 between them. Up front Jake Downing had a marvellous first half scoring two goals, before trading places with our goalkeeper Kieran Moloney who was dangerous on top of the square and chipped in with a lovely point. Muiris o Donoghue was man of the match tonight scoring 5 points and creating scoring opportunities for so many others. Jake Nash and Brian McCarthy were hard working throughout and linked up well with the play. Our subs on the night :Jack Donnelly,Michael Carey,Brinkley and Killian White fought very hard when introduced and are such a big presence when asked to do a job. Well done lads. Missing tonight were Ben Kelliher, James o Shea, Brian Titus, Cian Brennan and Tiernan Cassidy. This win will leave us with a chance of winning the Division and it would be just reward for a great Campaign. Management of :James Hurley, Tim O ‘Sullivan, Maurice o Donoghue & Colin Kiely have been extremely happy with this campaign and look forward to resuming the season after a short break.
