Weekly Notes Monday 28th of May

County League Division 1 - Round 5
Played in Caherciveen on Saturday May 26th
St Mary's 1-13 Dr Crokes 3-16
We remain unbeaten in the league as a result of our 3-16 to 1-13 win over St Mary's.
We were well on top in the first half and goals from Jordan Kiely and David O' Leary helped in a big way to give us a ten point lead at half time 2-9 to 0-5.
We were well on top again in the third quarter and went into a thirteen point lead as we entered the final fifteen minutes. Our opponents however shows in the closing period why they have won so many South Kerry titles. They attacked strongly and whittled our sizeable lead down to five points. We did however finish strongly and a goal by Michael Potts settled us down and we pushed on for a nine point win.
A positive in this win were the displays of under 21 players Paul Clarke, Billy Courtney and Mark O' Shea and our Kerry under 20 players David Shaw, Michael Potts and David Naughton who came off the bench and contributed well to this victory. It was good also to see Jordan Kiely starting the game after a long time on the injured list and he as usual had his trade mark goal.
It was great to see Eoin Brosnan and Colm Cooper performing so well after almost two decades at Senior level.
Team: Johnny O' Leary, John Payne, Mike Moloney, Kieran Ward, Shane Doolan, Jason Lyne, David O' Leary, Eoin Brosnan, Paul Clarke, Billy Courtney, Gavin O' Shea, Brian Looney, Jordan Kiely, Mark O' Shea, Tony Brosnan.
Subs: Michael Potts, David Shaw, David Naughton, Colm Cooper.
